Online registration for the Wexford Cycle 2012 is now OPEN. Join us in our biggest fundraising event of the year on Saturday, 22nd September. Raise much-needed funds to support the work of The Peter McVerry Trust while achieving a significant personal goal by cycling 136km (85m) from Dublin to Wexford. Golf Classic 2012

Our annual Golf Classic takes place on Friday, 11th May, at Milltown Golf Club. Bookings opened on Monday, 20th February and, already, our afternoon tee times are sold out. We have a very popular morning shotgun start at 8am which will eventually sell. Currently there is availability. The golf dinner at Milltown is always a great social occasion. Many non golfers attend to enjoy a great night. Please check our golf page under Events.

Wexford Cycle 2011

The Wexford Cycle 2011 took place on Saturday, 24th September on a beautiful sunny day. There was a southerly wind which didn’t help but cyclists seemed to enjoy the day nonetheless. Thank you to all our cyclists for making this an enjoyable day for organisers and support crew. 386 cyclists took to the road at 8am with 380 making it to Wexford.

Welcome Home is delighted to be nominated again as one of Leinster Rugby’s official charities for the coming season. This is a valued partnership for Welcome Home, to be linked with a highly successful rugby franchise such as Leinster, now considered one of the premier rugby franchises in Europe. The partnership has previously allowed Welcome Home to raise funds directly from joint initiatives and also to raise the charity’s profile among Leinster supporters and beyond. Welcome Home would like to thank Leinster Rugby for nominating the charity again and for their continued support for the work, therefore, of the Peter McVerry Trust with young homeless people in Dublin. We would also like to wish Leinster good luck for the 2011/12 season.

Midsummer Walk – 12th June

Our Midsummer Walk took place last Sunday, 12th June, in Powerscourt Demesne in Enniskerry. The weather was…….wet, prompting one wag to declare “I swam the Walk”. We were delighted that forty walkers braved the rain to complete the 10k route. We would like to thank them for their bravery, support and fundraising. As Peter McVerry said, the poor summer weather would give everyone an appreciation of the problems encountered by homeless people.

Sincere thanks to Fitzers Catering who provided a fantastic barbecue afterwards which was much appreciated by the forty walkers and by those who were helping wiith the event on the day.

Thanks also to Powerscourt for allowing us use their facilities and The River Walk which really is a lovely route (in normal weather conditions).
