Midsummer Walk

Sunday, 12th June at 11am

Registration is now closed

Some background:
A relatively new event on the Welcome Home calendar, the Midsummer Walk was introduced in 2008 with a 10k walk. The route was from The Peoples Park in Dun Laoghaire to Sandymount Green and was followed by a barbecue in O’Reillys Pub in Sandymount. 40 people took part in the first Walk.

In 2009 and 2010 the Walk took place over a 10km route in The Phoenix Park with just over 100 participants each year. Our hope is to keep growing the Walk over the coming years in a similar fashion to the Cycle.

The 2011 Route:
This year the Walk will take place on Sunday 12th June in the Powerscourt Demesne, Enniskerry , in an area known as The River Walk, a very private and scenic route.
The Walk starts at 11am.

The Walk has always been promoted as a family-friendly event with the route being chosen to facilitate casual walkers and children. Similar to the first Walk, this year Welcome Home is providing a high-quality barbecue afterwards for all walkers.

How to join in:
There is a registration fee of €25 for adults and €5 for children with adults asked to raise a total of €100 in sponsorship money. No sponsorship money is requested from children.

If you’ve walked with us before, please try and encourage some friends to come along with their friends and families and make a fun day of it!
