Some background
The Wexford Cycle is a firm favourite in the calendar of Welcome Home supporters – it was the first ever Welcome Home event in 1990 and last year celebrated 23 years in existence. It is the biggest event by far for Welcome Home in terms of participants and money raised.   We ask cyclists to pay €100 to register for the Cycle and raise a further €300 in sponsorship money.  Over the last five years the average raised per cyclist per year is a fantastic €700.

The Wexford Cycle has a core support every year with many corporate groups also taking part. The return of so many regular cyclists and groups each year is testimony to their support for the invaluable work of The Peter McVerry Trust and to the organisation of the event. Unbelievably, one cyclist has completed all 23 Cycles.

27 people took part in the first Cycle in 1990 while now it attracts almost 400 cyclists per year.
